4th Grade History App: Ken Burns (Free/Full $9.99)
Extremely slick-looking and easy to use app which allows the user to view numerous clips of history in a way only Ken Burns can show you. I could see any teacher assigning students to watch this or showing the student specific clips as a class via Apple TV or other methods. However, this is really more of a teaching tool to present content, than an direct teaching app in itself.

ELL Support App: Proloquo4Text ($119.99)
A great innovative tool for upper level ELL students which allows them to communicate in a confident way. One feature I love is the ability of the student work with the app in their 1st language (the app has support in 18 languages and over 100 authentic voices). There is also support across iOS devices and a "my-own-voice" feature where students can record their own voice to speak.THe smooth single screen user interface is also great. This app could really make a difference for new students in a classroom who may be unable to express to the teacher what they are thinking because of language barriers.

Assistive Technology App: Dyslexia Quest ($9.99)
This app is a fun way to get a snapshot assessment of many areas common to dyslexia, such as working memory, phonological awareness, processing speed, visual sequential memory, and visual memory. The games provides a variety of levels for different ages in an engaging adventure style game. I could see this being especially useful as a quick idea of a students levels in these areas, though it is not a professional diagnosis tool and make take multiple short sessions to complete a full assessment.

Teacher Support App: Socrative Teacher (Free/*PRO $29.99 for teachers)
I love the look and easy usability of this app. The functionality of this app allows a teacher to create exit tickets, quizzes, or even 'space races' which give the teacher immediate formative assessments. There are also numerous options to store data via Google Drive or email in various formats, such as excel spreadsheet or even individual PDF. Overall, it is very adaptable and functional with a clean user interface.
